Our forum stands as a beacon for academic excellence, fostering collaboration, innovation, and integrity among editors, publishers, and scholars across Asia. In an era where knowledge dissemination is evolving at an unprecedented pace, the role of editors and publishers has never been more critical.

AAFEP is committed to promoting the highest standards of academic publishing, supporting capacity-building initiatives, and encouraging ethical practices that enhance the credibility and impact of scholarly work. Through seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities, we aim to empower our members with the skills, insights, and tools necessary to navigate the dynamic landscape of academic publishing.

About AAFEP

AAFEP is a non-profit professional forum dedicated to advancing academic publishing across Asia. We connect editors, publishers, and researchers to promote high-quality scholarship, ethical practices, and innovation in scholarly communication.

Our Objectives

  • Promote excellence and integrity in academic publishing.
  • Facilitate collaboration and networking among Asian scholars and publishers.
  • Provide training, workshops, and resources for professional development.
  • Encourage innovation in digital and open-access publishing.
  • Uphold ethical standards in research and publication.

Membership

  • Full Members: Active editors and publishers.
  • Associate Members: Scholars and researchers.
  • Honorary Members: Individuals recognized for significant contributions to publishing.

All members are expected to follow AAFEP’s Code of Ethics and participate in forum activities.

Governance

  • General Assembly: Highest decision-making body, approves policies, and elects leadership.
  • Executive Committee: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and members manage daily operations.
  • Advisory Board: Offers guidance on academic and publishing matters.

Leadership Roles

  • President: Leads the forum and represents AAFEP.
  • Vice President: Assists the President.
  • Secretary: Manages records and communication.
  • Treasurer: Oversees finances.
  • Committee Members: Support activities and initiatives.

Meetings

  • Annual General Meeting: Reviews activities, finances, and elects leadership.
  • Quarterly Executive Meetings: Oversee operations and policies.
  • Special Meetings: Called for urgent matters or amendments.

Finances

Funded by membership fees, donations, and sponsorships, with all funds used to support AAFEP’s objectives. Financial reports are reviewed annually.

Code of Ethics

Members must maintain integrity, transparency, and professionalism, avoid unethical practices, and support responsible research and publication.

Amendments

Changes to the Statute & Bylaws require a proposal by the Executive Committee or one-third of members, and approval by two-thirds of the General Assembly.

Dissolution

If AAFEP is dissolved, assets will be transferred to a non-profit organization with similar objectives.
